Stainless Steel Straps/Bands: Choose the appropriate width and length for your application.
Buckle/Clip: A device to secure the strap once it's tightened.
Strapping Tool: A specialized tool for tightening and cutting the strap.
Safety Gear: Gloves and eye protection to avoid injury.
Steps
Measure and Cut the Strap:
Measure the length of the strap needed, allowing some extra length for fastening.
Cut the strap to the desired length using the cutting mechanism on your strapping tool or appropriate cutters.
Thread the Strap through the Buckle:
Insert one end of the strap through the buckle or clip. The specific threading method may vary depending on the buckle type (e.g., wing seal, closed seal, or open seal).
Position the Strap:
Wrap the strap around the item you intend to secure.
Thread the free end of the strap through the other side of the buckle, creating a loop around the item.
Tighten the Strap:
Use the strapping tool to pull the strap tight. Position the tool on the strap near the buckle, ensuring the strap is secure in the tool’s gripper.
Operate the tool’s tensioning mechanism (usually a ratchet or lever) to tighten the strap. Continue until the strap is securely fastened and there is no slack.
Seal the Strap:
Depending on your buckle type, you may need to crimp or fold the buckle to secure the strap. Some tools have a built-in mechanism for this.
For buckles requiring manual sealing, use a crimping tool to press the buckle closed, ensuring a tight and secure fit.
Cut Off Excess Strap:
Use the cutting mechanism on the strapping tool or appropriate cutters to remove any excess strap beyond the buckle.
Ensure the cut end is smooth and not sharp to avoid injury.
Inspect the Strap:
Check that the strap is tight and the buckle is secure.
Ensure there are no sharp edges that could cause injury or damage.
